Government Transparency
All issues that have city wide impact on dollars or policy need to be brought before the voters. Not only in city meetings and bulletins but also before the voters. Anyone who has tried to get internet service in Harrisville knows that our choices are very limited. If you want slow speeds your choices are better. But in our fast paced lives, no one has time to wait for the internet. Harrisville city needs to work with local internet service providers to bring blazing fast speeds to our city. Read More
Taxes
5 years ago when I moved to Harrisville City we had one of the lowest taxes in Weber County. Today, we have one of the highest. This was done without a vote by the people of Harrisville. I understand taxes are necessary. But to raise city property taxes over 100% should have been voted on by the people of Harrisville. Any tax rate increase that is higher than the rate of inflation should not be voted by city council but instead by the voters. Read More
